About John Paul
John Paul went to the Laird School of Art and spent three decades as a photographer starting with Forensic Photography (Yes the real life scary stuff of Silent Witness) followed by some crazy rollercoaster times that included 12 years working with HRH Diana Princess of Wales on the Kensington Palace Photographic Rota all of which is well documented in the autobiography I Saw Her Standing There. JP has also featured on television, radio and as a real life character in Blake Morrison’s collection of stories entitled Too True.
The Poet and Author: Works include five volumes of poetry, four art books and the official biographies of two Italian saints: Clare of Assisi and Gemma Galgani of Lucca.
Songwriting: Having photographed and worked with many fab artists over the years including Duran Duran, Dee Dee Ramone, OMD, The Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood and in more recent times bands and solo artists from Saxon, Nazareth, Hawkwind, Supertramp, Lindisfarne, Canned Heat to Kiki Dee, Judie Tzuke and Suzanne Vega all helping out with my poetry books has inspired me back again to writing songs, rediscovering a handful of early songs (thought lost), some written from a time in a short lived band plus brand new original indie live demo material that is being prepared for future release.
