About John Paul

John Paul went to the Laird School of Art and spent three decades as a photographer starting with Forensic Photography (Yes, years of the real life scary stuff of Silent Witness) followed by some crazy rollercoaster times that included 12 years working with HRH Diana Princess of Wales on the Kensington Palace Photographic Rota, all of which plus a lot more is well documented in the autobiography I Saw Her Standing There. JP has also featured on television, radio and as a real life character in Blake Morrison’s collection of stories entitled Too True.

The Poet and Author: Works include five volumes of poetry, four art books and the official biographies of two Italian saints: Clare of Assisi and Gemma Galgani of Lucca.

Songwriting: In recent times, rock bands and solo artists: Saxon, Nazareth, Hawkwind, Supertramp, Lindisfarne, Canned Heat, Kiki Dee, Judie Tzuke and Suzanne Vega have all helped and contributed with my poetry books and this has inspired me back again to writing music. Also a rediscovery of a handful of early material from the 1970s (thought lost), some written from a time in a short lived band. These tracks and brand new original indie live demo songs are currently being prepared for future release.
